Documents - Essentials

LibGuides are not a repository for items that should be stored on the Learning Bank or Moodles etc.

Types of Documents that can be stored on LibGuides

  • Instructions that support the workings of the LibGuides and associated services e.g. documents for the LibChat toolbox.
  • Documents needed for short periods of time

Copyright implications of storing documents on LibGuides

  • LibGuides is a publically accessible website. Any document stored on the site and linked to a published guide is available to anyone around the world.

Learning Bank Resources - Page Content

Learning Bank items are never grouped together in a box or heading abelled "Learning Bank". 

Alternative Locations for Storing Documents

Instructions and guidelines created by Library staff or TAFE NSW Staff

Can be housed on the Library eResources Learning Bank Collection under relevant LibGuide records. Separate records can be created for the same LibGuide to manage freely available and restricted access documents e.g.
LibGuide: Technology For Learning. Freely available resources
LibGuide: Copyright. Restricted resources

 
Copyrighted and copies of freely available Items that are required for a course of study or for teaching purposes

Should be stored on Learning Bank collections within the relevant teaching section. If access to these items is deemed necessary on a LibGuide, you will need to ensure that the item has a suitable copyright label attached.

 
eResources on the Library eResources Learning Bank Collection

Very limited content will be uploaded to this collection. eg. HE articles and book chapters, Books with permission, major resources.

  • Follow the instructions for "Preparing PDF scans for the Learning Bank 2021".
  • For HE articles and book chapters please also see the additional instructions for adding assets to HE Library Guides in APA or Harvard Reference format.
