To locate books in CCH eBooks you can either do a Basic search, an Advanced search, or Browse the entire collection.
To do a Basic search you can use the quick search box located on the toolbar at the top of page. For Advanced Searching click on the link located next to the quick search box.
You can do a basic search if you know the exact title. If you are unsure of the title you are better off using the Advanced Search.
Advanced search allows you to search by book title or keyword in the description. You can limit your search by author, publisher and year. To limit your search to Australian publications search for CCH Australia. You can also limit by year to get the most recent titles.
To Browse click on the BROWSE tab located on the toolbar at the top of the page or click on Start Browsing.
Both options will take you to the Browsing Library where you can:
The book details page provides information about the eBook and how it can be accessed. You can see how many copies are available and how many are on loan. Books that are available for loan can be borrowed for 2 weeks.
If you have not clicked on Sign In on the blue bar at the top of the screen, you will be prompted to Sign In.
Once you have signed in you can:
To read a book online, search for the title that you would like to read. If you have not already signed in, you will be prompted to sign in when you select the title.
Click on the blue Borrow button and then click on Read. This will open the book in the ePlatform Book Reader in your browser. You can install the reader or just start reading.
Navigate the book using the left and right arrows. Alternatively you can click on the Table of contents icon to select a particular chapter. To return the book before the loan expiry date click on Return.
Note: When you exit, the page you were reading is automatically bookmarked.

CCH eBooks allows you to add a variety of annotations to books that remain even after you have returned the book. Annotations include highlighting text, adding a note and adding a bookmark. You can also save books to read later and create customised lists by adding books to folders.
To highlight text or to add a note, use your mouse to select the text. Click on Highlight and a pop up box will appear. Select the highlighter colour or add a note. Highlight text to define or search for a word or term within the eBook. You can also copy and paste a portion of the text into another document.
To add a bookmark to a page move the mouse over the dotted triangle icon located on the top right corner of the page and click. When the page is bookmarked, the corner of the page is folded back.
To view your note from within the eBook click on the Bookmarks and Notes icon located on the toolbar. A list of notes highlights and bookmarks will be displayed.
To view all of the books you have annotated, click on LOANS on the top toolbar of the home screen, then click on My Notes & Highlights located at the bottom of the right side bar. All of the books that you have annotated are displayed with annotation details. To edit or delete these annotations click on the dots icon next to each record.
The LOANS tab displays all items that are currently on loan, it also keeps a record of all books that have been previously borrowed. To view, click on Show Loan History. Details of when they were loaned and returned are displayed.
Saved eBooks
To save a book to read at a later date, click on the greyed out Save for later icon at the eBook details page. When the book is saved the icon will change to blue
. Saved eBooks can be viewed in the SAVED tab located on the home screen.
Once you have saved the eBook you can add it to a custom list. To create a list click on . Give the list a name and click on Create.
CCH eBooks allows you to customise your reading experience with a range of settings for dyslexia and night time reading. These include background colour, font style, text size and line spacing.
To customise the display when reading a book, click on the Font icon located on the toolbar. Select from the range of options displayed or click on Launch the settings wizard (Dyslexia friendly).
