The ADE app can be used to download and read eBook from different platforms. You can use it to download eBooks from EBSCO, ProQuest and other eBook platforms. For digital rights management, a free Adobe ID is required to authorise the ADE applications.
If you want to read EBSCO eBooks on mobile devices only, you can also consider the EBSCO Mobile app which does not require an Adobe ID.
However, the ADE is currently the only app available for desktops and laptops.
If you have not already downloaded the app, you will be prompted to get the app when downloading an eBook from EBSCO eBooks via a web browser.
Technical specifications for the app - see system requirements.
Submit a request at Adobe Digital Editions Learn & Support if you are having any problems with the app.
An Adobe ID is an account created through the Adobe.com website. The Adobe ID is your email address and a password that you create. This is the ID you will need if you are using Adobe products such as Acrobat and Adobe Digital Editions.
If you already have an ID you do not need to create another one.
In the ADE app click the menu icon on the top left corner of the screen. Then select Settings and click Authorize. Enter your Adobe ID and your password and click Authorize.
Please note that if you have forgotten your Adobe password and you need to reset it, you will have to re-authorise your Adobe apps where required.
EPUB
Is the recommended format for downloading to mobile devices. It automatically resizes to fit the screen and when font size is adjusted. EPUB is compatible with iPad/iPhone, Kindle Fire, Galaxy tablets and the Adobe Digital Editions app for iOS and Android devices.
PDF
