Print, Copy and Scan Support: Help and FAQs

FAQs

  • As a student, you will receive a TAFE NSW email address on enrolment. You will be able to log into the device using your TAFE NSW ID and password (your TAFE NSW ID is the first part of your email address).

  • If you do not know or have forgotten your password, contact your local campus Student Administration Office or call 131 601.
  • Library staff may also be able to reset your password. After asking you a number of security questions, they can give you a temporary password that you need to reset as soon as possible.

  • No, you can only release your own print jobs from a TAFE NSW computer using your TAFEcard or TAFE NSW user ID.

  • You have 24 hours to release your job before it will be deleted.

  • This sometimes happens with larger print jobs. Wait until the application (Word, etc) tells you that printing is finished, before closing the application.

  • Leave your USB in place.
  • Logout of Papercut.
  • Swipe your card or enter your details again to login.
  • If the USB icon is now solid (no longer flashing) you can continue from Step 3.

  • Is your Mac connected to the TAFE NSW Wi-Fi? Check this by doing a search on the device's browser. If it is not connected, forget the network and reconnect to the TAFE NSW Wi-Fi.
  • Does your Mac have the latest OS updates installed?
  • Restarting the Mac may resolve printing issues.
  • Printing a PDF version of the document may help. MS Word can save documents as a PDF file.
  • Your Mac may autofill the username/password field when the document is printing. Right mouse click on the "Hold for authentication" pop up box and enter your TAFE NSW email address and password.
