TAFEcat Support: My Account and Lists

My Account

To access your account
  • You will need the barcode number on your TAFEcard (starts with 25555) and your library PIN.
  • If you don't know your PIN, please contact your local TAFE NSW Library.
  • If you have forgotten your PIN you can use the Forgot my PIN option at the login screen.

The My Account option allows you access to the following tabs and actions:

  • Personal information - change your PIN number, change your account display options and default lists.
  • Checkouts - to display and renew your loans. A red exclamation mark on the tab advises if you have an overdue item.
  • Checkouts - Checkout history (if enabled under Personal Information - Preferences) shows all items previously borrowed and returned.  Please follow these steps to enable, view and extract your checkout history.
  • Holds - to view the status of any items you have reserved. A green exclamation mark on the tab advises a hold is ready to collect.
  • Fines - to display the balance of any fines owing.

Placing Holds

When you are logged in to your account, you can place a hold (reservation) on an item that:

  • belongs to the library where you are enrolled and
  • has no other copies of the item available.

You can also place a hold in person, by phone or through Ask a Librarian.

Renewing Items

Items are able to be renewed online as long as:

  • the item is not required by another user
  • the item and any other items you have on loan are not overdue (a red exclamation mark appears on the tab header if any items are overdue)
  • the item has not reached its renewal limit (3 renewals in total)
  • your student record has not expired and you don't have any unpaid bills.

If your TAFE Library shares premises with a school, university, or public library, please call the library to check local renewal arrangements.

To renew your items

From the Checkouts tab on your account, select the items you wish to renew and click the renew button.
